MOVIE NIGHTS Chuck Schiltz plans to continue Friday Movie Nights through the summer. If you want to know what will be playing and its rating, you can e-mail him at chuck4762@gmail.com and he will add you to his e-mail list. In that way you will also know of any schedule changes. The movies are scheduled each Friday for 7:30 p.m. JUNE 1 – PLANT SWAP GARDNERS ALERT!! On Sunday, June 1, there will be a plant swap of perennials, annuals, or seedlings of which you may have too many. Bring them to church and we will swap after the service. Maybe some can be added to the church landscaping. Contact Ruth Lamb (761-6125) for more information. JUNE 1 - ANNUAL UUCGF BBQ/POTLUCK After the service on Sunday, June 1, please join us for the annual BBQ / Potluck at UUCGF. This is a time to get together and have great fun. In addition, this will be the last weekend before Barb Green, our current Board president, embarks on her new journey. We will need a couple of BBQ grills so volunteers are needed. (Please contact Lili Dobert at 321-7429 or sldobert@adelphia.net, if you can JUNE 6 & 7 - SONG FEAST This year’s Song Feast “In the Spotlight” will be on Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7 at 6:30 p.m.. Sue Cobb will be preparing a five-course gourmet spring dinner with musical entertainment coordinated by Margaret Lampasi between courses. It will be an evening of culinary and musical pleasures. Tickets are $25 per person and must be purchased in advance. There is a sign-up sheet in the church foyer. There will be 40 seats available each night. For ticket information, call Carol Strasser at 798-6609. This is a planned as a major fund raiser. JUNE 20-22 - OWL LEADER TRAINING FOR JR. HIGH & SENIOR HIGH This training will be held at First UU Society of Albany. It is an intensive weekend training designed to prepare your leaders to teach the Our Whole Lives program. After completion of the training and the approval of your congregation's leaders by the trainers, your congregation may purchase from the UUA Bookstore the slides that accompany the junior high program, and/or the video that accompanies the senior high program. In order to teach Our Whole Lives, a team of leaders of differing genders from your church needs to be trained. The leaders will be approved (or not approved) to teach at the end of the training weekend by the trainers. In the event your leader is not approved, you will be immediately notified by the trainers. SAT JULY 12 - ECKHART TOLLE RETREAT DAY Morning coffee/tea and bagels and This retreat will be peak DVD excerpts from a weekend long spiritual retreat in Findhorn, Scotland interspersed with discussion. Mr. Tolle has published THE POWER OF NOW, STILLNESS SPEAKS, and A NEW EARTH: Awakening To Your Life's Purpose. OCT. 10-12, 2008 - UU SILVER BAY WEEKEND Next year's UU Weekend at Silver Bay will be Columbus Day Weekend - Oct. 10 - 12, 2008. Every year in the past it has been the weekend after Columbus Day, but because Columbus Day will be so late next year, Silver Bay wants us to come Oct. 10-12. Please mark your calendars now.
